About Me

Dan discovered a passion for painting almost by accident.  As a kid growing up he loved watching Bob Ross on PBS, just loved to listen to the wonderful way Bob would speak and the magic that seemed to fall right out of the brushes, but Dan never thought to try painting.  

Fast forward to 2020 and in the quarantine time, he rediscovered the Bob Ross shows on Netflix. Sadly Netflix eliminated the Bob Ross shows just a week later.  Dan was happy to find the Bob Ross YouTube channel to continue to binge watch the shows.  

In July of 2020, Dan and his wife, Laurie were able to go to Ormond Beach to celebrate their 22nd wedding anniversary.  Since so many places were still closed or very restricted Dan and Laurie were looking to plan a few fun things to do.  

Dan remembered that Bob was from Florida and started looking for something Bob Ross related to go see.  There was a certified Bob Ross Instructor not too far from Ormond Beach.  Dan and Laurie took that 1 class and Dan was absolutely smitten and almost instantly in love with painting. 

Since July of 2020, he has converted a room in their home to an art studio and loves to paint as often as he can.  

In September of 2022, Dan became a Certified Ross Instructor®️.  He loves to share his passion and love for painting and hopes that the results bring smiles to the faces of others and that he can help encourage people to try new things and discover their own gifts, talents, and passions.  We are all wired differently, it is the differences that draw us together and are so cool to learn about each other.
